Let me be honest… I’ve always been a little iffy about spin.
I used to think it would be super intimidating — like, how am I supposed to keep up for an hour on a bike with my legs on fire and my butt hurting? 😩 But SPENGA actually changed my mind. It was a good intro to spin, and now I see why people get hooked.
Here’s how it all went down…
You Start with a Scan (If You Want To)
Before class, they offer an InBody scan, which I loved. It’s a cool way to check in on where you are — especially if you’re tracking progress over time. If you do it, definitely do it before the workout.
The Instructor Got Me Set Up — Big Win
The vibe walking in was chill, not intimidating. The instructor took the time to explain the class flow and even adjusted my bike setup. That attention to detail makes a difference, especially if you’re new.
The Spin Block — Way Better Than I Expected
You start with 20 minutes of spin. The room is dark, music blasting, with just a spotlight on the instructor in the center of the room. We rotated between seated riding, standing, and those little hovers over the bike — all synced with the music. The intervals kept it interesting, and honestly? It was way more doable than I thought. Definitely made me want to come back for spin again.
Strength Time — Functional & Full of Options
Next up is 20 minutes on the strength floor. The lights come up (but not too bright), and it’s a full setup — dumbbells, kettlebells, slam balls, benches, TRX straps, BOSU balls… you name it. The instructor walked us through the workout and rounds, and I loved that they had TVs showing the movements and the timer. You didn’t have to guess or keep up with counting — it was right there in front of you.
Yoga — The Cooldown I Didn’t Know I Needed
We finished with 20 minutes of yoga under dim lights with calming music. It wasn’t a hardcore yoga session — more like a guided stretch and cool down after all the work. Honestly, I’ve been wanting to try yoga for a while, so this was a perfect intro without the pressure.
Final Thoughts — Would I Go Back? Absolutely.
If you’re someone who likes a little bit of everything — cardio, strength, and stretching — SPENGA’s 20-20-20 format makes a lot of sense. You don’t need separate memberships at a spin studio, a strength class, and a yoga studio. It’s all in one, with just enough of each to leave you feeling like you got a full workout without overdoing it.
It’s a good option if you:
✔️ Want to mix up your workouts
✔️ Like structured classes with clear guidance
✔️ Want a welcoming vibe — no pressure, no intimidation
✔️ Want a workout that leaves you sweating and stretched
💡 Plus, your first class is free — so it’s worth trying out for yourself.
They also offer a few membership options, including unlimited, 8 sessions per month, and 4 sessions per month. (Just check with your local SPENGA for pricing — it may vary by location.)
